THE FARMERS ROUND

A TRULY RUSTIC LOAF TO NOURISH BODY AND SPIRIT

In a time when bread ovens were scarce and days in the field were long, baking bread might require a trip to a neighboring village.  Loaves were made large to travel efficiently and to keep well.  These massive loaves would feed a family for weeks, and when finally stale, were resuscitated in warm milk or stew.

This is the tradition of the miche, an authentic French country bread: hearty, moist and large.  The baguette of Paris is an insubstantial nibble in comparison.  This bread appears as the Peasant to WILD OVEN Shareholders, but I am pleased to offer an authentic FARMERS ROUND miche-style loaf by special request.

Though the Peasant makes the most traditional FARMERS ROUND, any WILD OVEN bread can by requested.  Most are $20 with tax.  All you have to do is ask!
